EX-SITU LAND OBJECTS AND PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKS TRACING THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE BIG BEND

Extractives examines the intersection of the natural and the cultural at the landscape level through site-responsive works. Silver gelatin prints, handmade paper works, and ceramic objects are produced from and in collaboration with natural materials collected from the sites from which the works are informed, preserving the integrity of the land itself. These works function as microcosmic cuts from the Big Bend landscape, straddling the line between the intentional and the chaotic, the organic and inorganic, the permanent and the ephemeral.
