Big Bend Moon Bowls

hand-built ceramic bowls fired in a downdraft barrel kiln made by the artist. combustibles and colorants collected from the immediate landscape - tumbleweed, johnson grass, prickly pear, rusty nails, copper wire - are added to the kiln during firing, producing unique textures and patterns on the surface of the clay.
